My aim during the tuition is to guide you and help improve your skills in taking excellent landscape photographs in the beautiful Sussex Landscape.

My days are best suited for either absolute beginners with no experience, or intermediate photographers. Whilst I can cover many photographic topics in the day, it is always geared to your individual needs. Most importantly, it is to make sure you come away with the knowledge that you most want to know.

I If you don’t currently own a digital SLR camera, I am more than happy to let you borrow a Canon pro SLR for the duration of the day with other essential items.
Being based in Southwater, West Sussex, we are very close to the newest National Park, the South Downs. There are endless landscape opportunities surrounding us, weather permitting, from beaches, sand dunes, sea cliffs and expansive agricultural land.

The locations I choose for the tuition days are easily accessible to most, though some may require walking in rough terrain for up to 20-30 min's depending on fitness. Most locations are up to 1 hrs travelling from Southwater.

Understanding full manual control
Successful composition
Shooting technique and how to eliminate camera shake and vibration
Understanding shutter speed and apertures for creative effect
How to make a good exposure
Understanding histograms
Depth of field
How to use Raw mode to maximise your cameras potential
Creative use of filters, ND grads / solid ND`s and polarizing

Whilst this is not exhaustive, giving you to much information on one day can be overwhelming and confusing, given that everyone learns at a different pace. A 20 page PDF is also sent out via E-mail, which covers the topics above in a little more detail.

The vast majority of tuition days are at the weekends, mainly due to my full time tree surgery business. This however works well for clients who are unable to take time off during the working week.

Pricing:

A half day tuition based on 4 hrs, dawn or dusk £60

A full day tuition based on 8 hrs from 9 am until dusk £120
